The Beginning

The name Stallions came about from the famous Royal-Thomian cricket tent which holds us “middle aged youngsters” for those three wonderful days. For those of you who are wondering, I am a very proud Thomian. As many of our team members at that time were not colts (not that young) and not yet a Mustang (far from old) we decided to call our selves The Stallions.

We began with a few friends, playing cricket on Sundays for fun and exercise. Gradually “a few” grew to a larger number and we decided to form a team and play a friendly game against the planters, many of whom are my good friends. We played our first match against them in Badulla on the 18th of August, 2007 and since then many a cricket lover has represented The Stallions.
